Hello everybody! I did a video for the Pamper Yourself for a Year draw that we are running with our sevice club the Kin Club of Woolwich.
The early bird draw is happening on Dec 22, 2012 at the Central in Elmira. The prize for the early bird draw is 52 $25 gift certificates for anywhere of your choosing. The main draw is taking place on March 10, 2012 and the grand prize for that draw will be 52 $50 gift certificates for anywhere of your choosing.
There will also be many other smaller gift certificate prizes to be won.
Net proceeds for the draw will go to the Womwns Crisis Services of Waterloo Region, various sports teams, educational and community projects in the Waterloo Region.
There will be 5000 tickets sold.
Tickets are only $20.
The very best part about this draw is that I will drop off the tickets to you. I know the holidays are upon us so I want to make this as simple as possible for anyone who might like to buy a ticket.
Thank you very much for supporting these great causes!!!
Have a terrific day!
Thanks for reading!

Here is an interesting article I read regarding the rapid transit plan that we are in the midst of. Realtors in Waterloo Region are pro-lightrail.
WATERLOO REGION — Local realtors lean to supporting an $818-million rail transit plan meant to help redevelop neighbourhoods near stations, a survey suggests.
The Kitchener-Waterloo Association of Realtors surveyed its members and found 71 per cent support light rail transit, 14 per cent support rapid buses and 15 per cent support upgrading roads without rapid transit.
Association president George Patton said realtors are “naturally interested in any issue that stands to have such a profound impact on how the community is shaped.”
Realtors were also asked if trains are the best way to encourage investors to build homes and workplaces in central neighbourhoods. The results: 64 per cent said yes, 23 per cent said no and 14 per cent said maybe.
Here are some pictures from the big snow storm. Not as bad as expected and we were able to avoid the monster storm in Chicago. Chicago had thunderstorms and lightening with their monster snow storm. Thank goodness ours wasn’t that bad!!! Hopefully everyone in Chicago is weathering the storm ok!
One of my favourite things to do is go to the St Jacobs Farmers Market. I like to go there on the weekend. They are open 7:00am-3:30pm Thursday and Saturday. The St Jacobs Farmers market website is http://www.stjacobs.com/html/shopping-farmersmarkets.html
Check out this video I did about the market and surrounding shops and stores:
This past Saturday we had the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival in Elmira. Each year this festival seems to attract more and more people. This year was no different. On Saturday the weather was perfect to host such a wonderful event. I live about half a kilometre away from the festivities and I could smell the aroma of pancakes from my house. My wife and I walked down to the main street which is Arthur St. They close off Arthur St for the day so that all of the vendors can setup their booths in the outdoor mall. They have every kind of vendor that you can imagine.
If you like food, then then you came to the right place. My personal favourites are the back bacon on a bun and the Lions Apple Fritters. Some of the more interesting eats were the pickle on a stick and deep fried Mars bars.
Some of the other events that people could take place in were:
You could enjoy the yummy pancakes. The line was pretty long so we passed on the pancakes this year
Mega Mutts dog show
Old MacDonalds farm
Sugar Bush tours
There are around 2000+ volunteers to support the event. Proceeds from the festival go to support local charities and non-profit organizations.
I did a little video to show the size of the crowd.
Sorry about the audio
